Curricular Practical Training Application Requirements
1) Apply for internship opportunities (see http://career.shidler.hawaii.edu for
approved internship opportunities), and register for the internship class
(BUS 395, BUS 695, or ACC 695)
2) Interview for an internship position that meets your learning goals
3) Once a company offers you an internship you need to request that they
fax a letter to the Internship Office. The letter should be on company
letterhead and include the following:
a) Name of the student intern being hired
b) Title of position being offered
c) Brief description of intern’s duties
d) Beginning and end dates of the internship (should coincide with the start and end of the semester)
e) Location of internship (city & state)
f) Average hours per weekFax letter to Rick Varley at 956-2763.
4) Once the employment letter has been received by the Internship Office, a
CPT application will be completed and you will be notified when it is ready
for pick up.
5) Take your completed CPT application, course syllabus, and employment
letter to the International Student Services (ISS) office in Room 206 of
the Queen Liliokalani Student Services Center
6) Within ten days of submitting your papers to ISS, you will receive your
CPT Work Permit.
